Objective:
To understand the operating principle of heat pumps and know the main types of pump available.

Level: A level equivalent
Guidance: Knowledge of heat pumps is essential in today’s modern world.
A good knowledge of heating systems, and a basic understanding of chilling and air-conditioning is necessary to study this course.

 

 

Presentation of heat pump – Part 2

 

Objective:
To be capable of explaining the operating principle of geothermal heat pumps with vertical collectors, water table collectors and DHW only models.

Level: A level equivalent
Guidance: Heat pumps are here to replace boilers and all-electric heating. Knowledge of them is essential in today’s modern world.
A good knowledge of heating systems, and a basic understanding of cooling and air-conditioning is necessary to study this course.

 

 

Heat pump performances

 

Objective:
To understand the basic rules of sizing and installing heat pumps.

Level: HDN
Guidance: This course is of great use to technicians in charge of selecting and installing heat pumps.

 

 

Connecting – regulating heat pumps without DHW

 

Objective:
To be able to define logical connecting and regulating modes for air/water or water/water heat pumps providing heating without domestic hot water production.

Level: A level equivalent to HND
Guidance: The optimisation of hydraulic connections, and the care given to the setting and regulating of controls, govern the degree of operating efficiency of the majority of energy saving equipment (heat pumps, condensing boilers, smoke stack and air extractor heat recovery, solar collectors, etc.).
In the case of heat pumps (HP), the quality and simplicity of the hydraulic connections, and the setting and regulating of controls, governs not only the performance but also, and above all, the correct operating of the installations.
