Description of the training Flow rate, temperature and pressure in HVAC :

Volume and mass flow rates in HVAC

Objective:
To be able to control “flow rates” according to circulation speed and pipe gauge. To master the notion of “air change” rates and “maintaining flow rates”. To be capable of converting mass flow to volume flow and vice-versa

Level: Vocational School Certificate to HND
Guidance: Whatever the training level, studying this E-book is useful, even without doing the exercises.
Alternate with a chronological study of the E-books on physics and mathematics if necessary.
At the School Certificate and HND level only the first 3 paragraphs will be studied. This important E-book is quite substantial. To begin with don’t hesitate to put the notion of mass flow rate aside (last §), and come back to this later.

Temperature & thermal expansion in HVAC

Objective:
To understand temperature values and be able to calculate thermal expansion of water, air and piping.

Level: School Certificate to A level
Guidance: The first four § of this E-book are essential for working in the HVAC sector.
At the Certificate and A level the book should be read entirely, but we will only deal with the exercises of the first four §.

Weights, pressures in HVAC

Objective:
To be able to estimate pressures in tanks and circuits, in the open air and under pressure.

Level: A level
Guidance: This course is essential for the later study of hydraulics, aeraulics and refrigeration.
